Sta-For S.r.L was established in 1956, following the conversion of METALLURGICA SPERANZA, which was founded in 1938 by Giuseppe Bernardo Speranza.

As a result of increasingly important orders, the company decided to add steel drop-forging to its production range, thereby penetrating the domestic and international markets, e specially the automotive, textile, armaments and lifting equipment industries.

In order to give a boost to the company, substantial investments were made to renew and develop the equipment, implement a quality control plan and automate the production process.

In 2007 Sta-For S.r.l. took over MEC-FER (formerly Antonio Grandi S.p.A.), a company operating in the railway business, thereby extending its production capacity.
